[BUG] Public image download fails - manifest unknown

Current Behavior

I noticed that there is a "public" tagged image:

Updated my compose stack to show "public" instead of "latest":

Pulled image ... docker compose pull and got "manifest unknown"

Expected Behavior

Image pull without error.

Steps To Reproduce

Those aren't tags. Those are acceptable values for the env var.

Those are the only logs that appear when a docker compose pull fails. This has nothing to do with a running container The container was stopped a docker compose pull command was issued. No, you're not reading the instructions correctly. Those options are for the VERSION env, not docker tags.
